Welcome to the Radio-TV major at Chicago Vocational Career Academy. Your instructor is Mr. Badesch, who started the program in 2000. Mr. Badesch is a broadcast professional and state certified instructor with a broadcasting degree from Southern Illinois University.

This is a JOB TRAINING program. Therefore, it is treated as a job. Your grade in this class depends on you being ON TIME everyday, completing ALL work to the very best of your ability, and your attention to all of the training provided to help you do your best.

Your grade is broken down this way: 40%=Attendance/Tardies/On-Task; 40%=Work product/On-Time/Quality/Follow Instructions; 20%=Tests/Certifications/Quizzes/Other. There are several goals of this course: 1) to achieve certification in one of the CPS approved performance areas; 2) to be highly prepared to get an entry level job in the broadcasting industry upon graduation; 3) to be highly prepared to enter and successfully completed a broadcasting program at a two or four year college/university; 4) successfully pass all 3 years/levels of the Radio-TV program on-time.

You will be learning everything that a broadcast professional has to learn - EVERYTHING! You are expected to work behind and in front of the camera and microphone; you are expected to write and read at a professional level; you are expected to conduct yourself in a professional, mature level; you are expected to meet strict deadlines; you are expected to build on your prior knowledge and be able to reach a professional, mature, self-directed level of ability.

I will use this site to post work and other information when necessary. Keep checking back. You have a lot to live up to - the previous Radio-TV classes have earned dozens of awards and are working in the broadcasting industry and/or have earned their college degree in broadcasting. They have had their work honored in video competitions around the world. This is the legacy you enter. Make them proud.
